RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended by striking from Section

General Statement of Duties: Performs supervisory work planning, directing
and evaluating recreational activities at recreational centers within an
assigned area of the City; assists in planning, implementing and evalu-
ating specialized pragrams and/or league activities on a city-wide
basis; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of a unit or divi-
sional head.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises within an assigned program or geograph-
ical area general supervision over recreation workers.

RECREATION DIRECTOR II
Duties and responsibilities:
Under direction, to supervise the planning and conducting of the
recreational activities at recreation centers in a given section
of the City, or to assist in planning and development of new
specialized programs on a city-wide basis; to assist in super-
vising the league and group activities on a city-wide basis; and
to perform related work as assigned.
� Examples of work performed:
To supervise the planning and organizing of the activities at the
recreational facilities in a designated area.
To assist in planning and developing new recreational programs
and facilities on a city-wide basis for off-playground activities.
To assist in planning and developing fee paid recreation activities
such as swimming, golf lessons, skeet shoot ranges, and ski
areas.
To check for available federal and state funds for proposed new
programs.
To supervise employees responsible for the activities at the
recreation centers in a designated area.
���, To guide assistants in organizing new leisure time activities
for adults and children.
To make personal contacts and to work cooperatively with social,
religious, civic and commercial groups and organizations.
To assist in the training of volunteer leaders.
To supervise the maintenance of property and equipment at the
recreation centers or in various other recreation locations.
To direct recreational activities when necessary.
To assist in organizing, supervising, and directing group, team
or league activities.
To arrange transportation for special group events scheduled
off-playground.
To train, assign, and supervise officials, referees, umpires,
scorers, and judges for events.
To schedule events and to see that officials are present.
To write advance publicity of sporting events and to report on
