STARR, CITY ATTORNEY uu un Q?,e 647 City Hall, Saint Paul,Minnesota 55102 612-298-5121 GEORGE LATIMER MAYOR October 2 , 1985 M E M O R A N D U M TO: Greg Blees Budget Director FROM: Joanne Rettner City Attorney' Office The City Council , by C.F. 85-1154, approved the hiring of William Tilton, attorney at law, as outside counsel in several suits filed against John Huyen, Director of the Department of Human Rights, and the City. Mr. Tilton' s fees are paid out of the Outside Counsel Account, 09073-218 . The budget in this account for 1985 was $10, 000. To date, we have expended $6 , 744. 15 in payment of attorney' s fees to Mr. Tilton. Terry Sullivan, the attorney representing the City in this lawsuit, has advised me that we will probably incur an additional $8 , 000 to $10,000 in legal fees on this case before the end of 1985 , and I am, therefore, requesting that a transfer in the amount of $10, 000 be made into account 09073 to cover these fees. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please call me. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. jr e _ .. . j •`'', . . .
