2 Whereas, the Macalester-Groveland Community Council has requested the creation of a
3 special sign district to provide sign controls that build the identity of the Macalester-Groveland
4 community; and
6 Whereas, the Macalester-Groveland Community Council has prepazed and submitted a
7 special sign district ordinance for amendment into the zoning code; and
9 Whereas, Minn. Stat. § 462357, Subd. 4 requires proposed zoning code amendments not
10 initiated by the planning commission to be first referred to the planing commission for study,
11 report and recommendation before the proposed amendment is acted upon by the city council;
12
13 NOW, TAEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saint Paui,
14 pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 462357, Subd. 4, herehy requests the planning commission to study,
15 report and submit a recommendation conceming the proposed Macalester-Groveland Special
16 Sign District which is attached hereto and incoxporated herein by reference.
