1NHEREAS, in approving City Project No. 85-P-0972 for the paving of
English Street from Arlington Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue the Council
deleted sidewalk construction due to opposition by adjacent residents,
and;
WHEREAS, A special condition exists for the block between Arlington
Avenue and Nebraska Avenue where people park and walk to Lake Phalen,
and;
WHEREAS, The Public Works Department has recommended that sidewalk be
installed on the west side of English Street from Arlington Avenue to
Nebraska Avenue along with the paving project with no assessment, and;
WHEREAS, The residents on the west side of Engiish Street from Ariington
Avenue to Nebraska Avenue have petitioned that this sidewalk be
constructed, now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED, That sidewalk construction be added to the west side of
English Street from Arlington Avenue to Nebraska Avenue in conjunction
with City Project No. 85-P-0972 and that the cost of same be paid for
through Municipal State Aid Funds.
