RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby approves
and ratifies the attached Memorandums of Agreement which amend the 1984-1985
Collective Bargaining Agreements between the City of Saint Paul and AFSCME Local
1842 and AFSCME Local 2508.

Rationale) :
This resolution amends the Agreements between J1���j�j����M4F�SCME Local 2508 and the
City of St. Paul. The change involves the employer's contribution for early retirees. The
members contri6ution for epen en coverage is increase rom . per month to �28.94
per month. This increase is for 1985 only. The maximum contribution reverts back to
$193.26 on December 31 , 1985. �

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
This Memorandum of Agreement is by and between the City of Saint Paul and Local
i
Union 1842, District Council 14 of the AFSCME. In full settlement of the Grievances
filed by AFSCME, Local 1842 dated 12-14-84.
1. Except as herein modified, the Agreements between the parties, entered into
January 16, 1984, shall be the basis of this Memorandum of Agreement.
2. Effective upon the execution of this Memorandum, Article 10.2 of said Agreement
shall be replaced with Article 10.2 which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
It is understood that the above settlement shall be recommended by the City
� Negotiator, but is sub�ect to approval by the City Administration and adoption
by the City Council.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have affixed their signatures this 6th
day of May, 1985.

� 10.2 The Employer will for the period of this AGREEMENT provide for employees
who retire after the time of execution of this AGREEMENT and until such
employees reach sixty-five (65) years of age such health insurance
F
benefits and life insurance benefits as are provided by the Employer for
such employees.
Effective January 1, 1985, for each employee who retires during the term
of this AGREEMENT and is eligible for early retiree benefits under the
terms set forth in this article and who selects Blue-Cross employee '
insurance coverage, the Employer agrees to contribute the cost of such
coverage or $87.06 per month, whichever is less. In addition for each
eligible early retiree who selects Blue-Cross dependent's insurance
coverage, the Employer will contribute the cost of such dependent's
� coverage or $228.94 per month, whichever is less.
Effective December 31, 1985, the Employer's contribution toward early
retirees Blue-Cross employee coverage shall be limited to the cost of
such employee's coverage or $87.06 per month, whichever is less. Any
increase in the insurance premiums after December 31, 1985 for employee
coverage shall be paid by the employee.
Effective December 31, 1985, the Employer's contribution toward early
retirees Blue-Cross dependent coverage shall be ad�usted back to and
limited to the cost of such dependent's coverage or $193.26 per month,
whichever is less. Any increase in the insurance premiums after December
31, 1985 for dependent coverage shall be paid by the employee.
