CODE: 4� � ��"� TITLE OF CLASS: METER OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES General Statement of Duties: Performs supervisory work in planning and directing the installation, repair and testing of all water meters in the Water Utility service area and performs related duties as required. Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a division head or an assistant. Supervision Exercised: Exercises general supervision over skilled trades workers, semi-skilled and clerical workers. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Supervises meter section employees in the installation of, repair of, and testing of water meters and related metering equipment. Plans, schedules and directs the installation, repair and testing of all water meters and related metering equipment in the distribution division. Initiates requests for personnel, supplies and equipment and keeps � abreast of new equipment and materials available. Assists in designing, estimating costs and preparing specifications for new meters and or meter installations. Familiarizes meter section employees with equipment and with safe efficient work practices. Maintains personnel, payroll and inventory records, prepares reports of repair schedules for all meters. Develops and maintains appropriate replacement, repair and testing programs for all Water Utility meters in accordance with current industry practices. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to plan, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of others. Ability to anticipate problems regarding meter replacement and testing.
