materials in s wers , or through illegally dumping wastes; an
WHEREAS, the C' ty of Saint Paul has outdated and inadequate
information ab ut th status of private wells; and
WHEREAS, the M' nneso a Pollution Control Agency does not hav
any programs w ich i entify the source of contamination, imp ct
on aquifer and clean p techniques to be used; and �.
WHEREAS, many andfi ls, already recognized for their contam nated
leachate, may o unc ecked by environmental protection agenc es;
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED THAT he City of Saint Paul supports expansio of
the Minnesota epart ent of Health' s VOC study, and directs
lobbying staff to su port legislative actions necessary to
identify soure s of ater pollution and provide adequate fun ing
to cleanup was e sit s.
