Water Pollutio Problem: -St. Paul has 233 private wells; . -Lan fills, Superfund sites, Ieaking underground stor ge tanks pose a threat to city resident�al well ; -Min esona Department of Health is undertaking a st dy of Volatile Organic Chemicals. Five ind trial wells were tested in St. Paul, two had low evels of trichloethplene. The state has no p ogram to identify source of pollution or off suggestions on clean-up. Moreover, the tate has�no program to test prinate, residentia we1 s in the city: Proposal . -Lo bq for state legislation to expand the VOC stu y to test private, noncommunity residential wel s and provide funds for clean-up.
