WHEREAS , the problem of cleaning up litter on p blic
lands will remain to be an enormous annual maintenan e cost
to the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS , the problem of dog litter on public la ds can
pose a health hazard to the Citizens of Saint Paul ; nd
WHEREAS , the Park Rangers will provide addition 1
assistance in the enforcement of Chapter 200. 11; and
WHEREAS , THE Council of the City of Saint Paul upports
stronger enforcement of Chapter 200. 11 ; now, therefo e , be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul
supports the Municipal Judges of Ramsey County and t eir
efforts of using community service projects as appro riate guide-
lines ; and
FURTHER, be it resolved that the City Council requests that
the Municipal Judges of Ramsey County allow the des ' gnation
of cleaning up public lands as a community service lassification
for sentencing of appropriate offenses ; and
FURTHER, be it resolved that the Council of the City
of Saint Paul requests that the Municipal Judges of Ramsey County
would consider five hours of community service in 1 eu of each
$25 fine imposed in cleaning up public lands as an ppropriate
sentencing guideline for violators of the Saint Pau Legislative
Code Chapter 200. 11 ; and
