WHEREAS. the Guadalupe Area Proiect is an altern ive high school
that reaches out to the needs of people in an area where hoices are few;
and
WHEREAS, the Guadalupe Area Project provides a c llenging curricu-
lum and uniquely trained staff to a qroup of students, v of whom for the
� first time taste the rich fruits of academic success; an
WHEREAS. through the leadership of Sister Giovan i the Guadelupe Area
Pro,�ect has, over the past 26 years, served more than 5, Q teenage students,
3,400 elementary students and 1 ,000 adults; and
WHEREAS, Sister Giovanni is God's gift to us all nd Guadalupe Area
Project is her way of bringing alive her humanity and he religion; NON.
THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the St. Paul City Council does he by prociaim Sunday,
May 18, 1986, as Guadalupe Area Pro3ect Day in St. Paul d invites ali St.
Paui citizens to join in the open house celebration.
