THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 . That Section 200.08 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code be and is hereby amended to read as follows : 200. 08 Pound fee , etc. Any dog captured and impounded under the provisions of this chapter shall be rel ased only on the payment of $25 pound fee , plus an addition 1 charge of ��.-�A 3. 50 per day for board for each day or raction of a day during which the dog is impounded. If the 'mpounded dog be unlicensed, in addition to the impounding nd boarding fee set herein, the dog shall not be rel ased without the payment of the prescribed license fee, as pro- vided in Section 200.03, plus an additional fee o $5 . Section 2 . That Section 200.09 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code be and is hereby amended to read as follows : 200.09. No interference with officer, etc. It shall be unlawful for any person to molest or in any way i terfere with any peace officer , animal control supervisor park d�ran er, or any duly authorized assistants , or wit any uthorized agent or any person authorized by the health officer, while engaged in performing work under t e provisions of this chapter . Any person iolating this section, who , upon first requested by a peace office , health officer or any duly authorized assistant health offi er, to stop or prevent the annoyance, and refuses to comply with the request , �aa�-will be issued a citation or arrested in accorda ce with the Minneso�a Rules of Criminal Procedure, and, if the o ficer deems it necessary to stop the annoyance, may have t e canine taken to the city animal pound . Any canine placed in the ound may be reclaimed by the owner upon payment of the fee pres ribed in Section 200.08, and if not reclaimed may be dispo ed of in the manner provided in Section 200. 13. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thi ty days from and after its passage, approval and publication. I have eviewed this ordinance amendment and wish to call your atten ion to the proposed Section 3 , which amends Section 200. 11 f the Code. The second and third paragraphs of this propos d ordinance amendment require that owners or other persons keepi g or harbor- ing animals shall be required to have in their posse sion devices for the removal of feces . The first paragraph of this section ^ pertain�`� only to dogs , rather than to �the broa er category � of animals .
