RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby pproves and

This resolution amends �he 1985-86 Agreement between the City and the P umbers Local 34. The
Amendment provides language which allows the Employer to transfer Utili yman I to the title
of Water Meter Repairer at their current rate of pay. The duties of th Utilityman I in the
Water Department are now included in the job description for Water Mete Repairer. The
employees who will be transfer�ed to this new title will retain their s niority rankings.

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
This Memorandum of Agreement is by and between the City of S int Paul and the
Plumbers Local 34. In full settlement, the parties hereto h e agreed as follows:
1. Except as herein modified, the signed 1985-1986 Co ective Bargaining
Agreement between the parties shall be the basis o the forthcoming
Agreement.
2. Page C2 of Appendix C of said Agreement shall be re lace with Page C2
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
It is understood that the above settlement shall be recommend d by the City
Negotiator, but is subject to approval of the Administration f the City and is
also sub�ect to ratification by the Union.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have affixed their sig atures this 10th
day of February, 1986.

The wage rate for the title of Water Meter Repairer shal consist of four
steps. The first step ehall be the entry level step. The se ond step may be paid
to those employees who successfully perform the duties of the title and who have
appeared on the payroll in such title for at least 1040 hours. The third step may
be paid to those employees who successfullq perform the dutie of the title and who
have appeared on the payroll in such title at the second wage step for at least
2080 hours. The fourth etep may be paid to those employees o successfully perform
the duties of the title and who have appeared on the payroll n such title at the
third wage step for at least 2080 hours. Employees holding t e title of Utilityman
I in the Water Department prior to August 1, 1985 shall be tr nsferred to the title
of Water Meter Repairer with no change in their rate of pay. Such transfers shall
be made in the same order as the affected employees were appo nted to the title of
Utilityman I. Such employees will be eligible for the 4th st p rate for Water Meter
Repairer two (2) years from the date they were regularly appo nted Utilityman I.
Seniority for the title of Water Meter Repairer shall be the ate of the employee's
transfer to the title of Water Meter Repairer.
If the Union elects to have the contributions listed in ppendix D increased
or decreased, the Employer may ad3ust the above applicable ra es for participating
employees in such a way that the total cost of the package (w ge rate plus contri-
butions) remains constant.
