Pledging support of the City of Saint Paul in the United Stat s Savings
Bond Program and urging participation by City employees in th Automatic
Payroll Savings Plan.
WNEREAS, The United States Savings Bond Program continues to lay an
important role in the financing of our government and in the ound manage-
ment of the public debt; and
WNEREAS, B}� promoting thrift, the Savings Bond Program contri utes to
the economic security of individual families and helps to con rol
inflationary pressures; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul that it
reaffirms its continuous support of the United States Savings Bond Program,
in general, and of the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan, in spe ific, and
urges all City emploZ�ees to participate in this thrift-orient d program, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor and all department he s be urged
to assume a role of leadership during the Annual United Stat s Savings
Bond campaign for City emplo��ees in May so the employees may be made
aware of this opportunity to join the plan.
