Work also involves directing and planning community relations programs. Responsible for developing educational workshops, seminars, etc. designed to meet special needs in the community. Sponsors forums and training sessions to increase the participation of protected classes in local government activities that effect them. � Consults with local civic organizations and businesses on problems involv- ing human rights issues and on civil rights law. Provides staff support to the Human Relations Commission and serves as a liaison between the Commission, the City Manager, the Board of Aldermen, and the community. Writes proposals for special programs and funding if needed. Provides affirmative action and equal opportunity training for supervisors and managers upon request .
