85-292 WMITE - C�TV CLERK � PINK - FINANCE COUnCII � /�/) CANARV - DEPARTMENT GITY OF SAINT PAITL File NO. � ,�� BLUE - MAVOR C�t � , �� Co il Resolution Presented By Referre To Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, a municipality may pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 462.353 carry on comprehensive municipal planning activities for guiding the future development and improvement of the municipality; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul may pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 462.355 adopt or amend a comprehensive plan or portion thereof after a recorr�nendation by the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council upon the recomnendation of the Planning Commission has heretofore adopted as portions of the comprehensive plan the plan for District 3; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has found the Smith Avenue Task Force Report consistent with the policies and objectives of the Saint Paul Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the Planning Comnission has recomnended adoption of the Smith Avenue Task Force Report as an amendment to the District 3 Plan, and that a surr�nary of the Smith Avenue Plan be added to the text of the District 3 Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby adopt the Smith Avenue Task Force Report as a Plan for Smith Avenue to be incorporated into the City's comprehensive plan as part of the District 3 Plan subject to such review by the Metropolitan Council as may be required by law; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a summary of the Smith Avenue Plan attached hereto be added to the text of the District 3 Plan.
