Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a unit, division or department head. Supervision Exercised: Exercises close supervision over custodial workers and coordinates the work of outside contractors. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Coordinates and reviews the work of the contract cleaning crew. Greases, oils and tends mechanical equipment related to heating and cooling plants. Cleans fans and fan housings, related equipment and ducts; oils fan bearings, adjusts tension and changes belts; cleans and/or changes air filters, cleans motors and/or changes oil. Monitors automatic controls on heating and cooling plants, sets switches, repairs malfunctions and/or gets assistance from service workers from outside companies. Maintains and repairs all systems supplying water, electrical power and steam/hot water to building; hot water for heating and chilled water for cooling purchased from outside. Coordinates the joint use of steam, cooling and power supply lines to non- city government users within the building; reads the meters and bills users for share used several times per year.
