The Port Authority plays an instrumental role in providing the tools, the financing, and the leadership to ensure proper development in both areas. I believe all development efforts must be done in concert with each other so effective communication is needed beriveen the several "entities" engaged in developing our City. I would emphasize communication and coordination if I were selected to sit on the Port Authority. Over the last 35 years, American Securiry Corporarion has evolved from a small detective agency into a leader in the security industry with over 1000 employees in six states. American Security Corporation provides security, investigative, armored car and cash management services. In February of 1997, Mark Shields resigned from his posiuon as Depury Mayor and Chief of Staff for the City of Saint Paul under Mayor Norm Coleman and joined American Security Corporafion as Vice President. Mr. Shields brought with him the experience and knowledge of a 26-yeaz career in public service. NIr. Shields' responsibilities ranged from managing a cabinet of 18 department heads to advisor to the Mayor on all matters of City Government. Mr. Shields supervised a workforce of 3500 employees and managed an annual budget of $400 million dollars. Prior to his service with the Ciry of Saint Paul, Mr. Shields was the Criminal Justice Advisor to the Minnesota Attorney General for two yeazs, the Superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for five yeazs and for 10 years the Executive Director of the Boazd of Peace Officer Standards and Training. Mr. Shields began his law enforcement career as a police officer for the City of Saint Paul. The Port Authority plays an instrumental role in providing the tools, the financing, and the leadership to ensure proper development in both areas. I believe all development efforts must be done in concert with each other so effective communication is needed beriveen the several "entities" engaged in developing our City. I would emphasize communication and coordination if I were selected to sit on the Port Authority. Over the last 35 years, American Securiry Corporarion has evolved from a small detective agency into a leader in the security industry with over 1000 employees in six states. American Security Corporation provides security, investigative, armored car and cash management services. In February of 1997, Mark Shields resigned from his posiuon as Depury Mayor and Chief of Staff for the City of Saint Paul under Mayor Norm Coleman and joined American Security Corporafion as Vice President. Mr. Shields brought with him the experience and knowledge of a 26-yeaz career in public service. NIr. Shields' responsibilities ranged from managing a cabinet of 18 department heads to advisor to the Mayor on all matters of City Government. Mr. Shields supervised a workforce of 3500 employees and managed an annual budget of $400 million dollars. Prior to his service with the Ciry of Saint Paul, Mr. Shields was the Criminal Justice Advisor to the Minnesota Attorney General for two yeazs, the Superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for five yeazs and for 10 years the Executive Director of the Boazd of Peace Officer Standards and Training. Mr. Shields began his law enforcement career as a police officer for the City of Saint Paul. The Port Authority plays an instrumental role in providing the tools, the financing, and the leadership to ensure proper development in both areas. I believe all development efforts must be done in concert with each other so effective communication is needed beriveen the several "entities" engaged in developing our City. I would emphasize communication and coordination if I were selected to sit on the Port Authority. Over the last 35 years, American Securiry Corporarion has evolved from a small detective agency into a leader in the security industry with over 1000 employees in six states. American Security Corporation provides security, investigative, armored car and cash management services. In February of 1997, Mark Shields resigned from his posiuon as Depury Mayor and Chief of Staff for the City of Saint Paul under Mayor Norm Coleman and joined American Security Corporafion as Vice President. Mr. Shields brought with him the experience and knowledge of a 26-yeaz career in public service. NIr. Shields' responsibilities ranged from managing a cabinet of 18 department heads to advisor to the Mayor on all matters of City Government. Mr. Shields supervised a workforce of 3500 employees and managed an annual budget of $400 million dollars. Prior to his service with the Ciry of Saint Paul, Mr. Shields was the Criminal Justice Advisor to the Minnesota Attorney General for two yeazs, the Superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for five yeazs and for 10 years the Executive Director of the Boazd of Peace Officer Standards and Training. Mr. Shields began his law enforcement career as a police officer for the City of Saint Paul.
