S`�::"�tN C:.:::......:.i=... ..� • July 16 , 1987 Kiki Sonnen Councilmember City Hall Seventh Floor Saint Paul, Minnesota 55102 Dear Councilmember Sonnen: I support your resolution to allow a City employee to use his/her own sick time to care for a sick or disabled child up to a maximum of 8 hours per occasion. First Bank System has a Sick Days Attendance Policy which allows employees to use their own occasional illness day to care for a sick child. We believe that employees want to come to work but in fact cannot occasionally when their child is suddenly or severely ill. We also provide a sick child care subsidy to our working parents who feel they can leave their ill child in high quality sick child care. I 've enclosed our brochure. As co-chair of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Child Care Task Force , I know employers are struggling with this issue. Thank you for bringing the discussion to the City Council.
