WHAT WILL BE ACHIEVED BY TAKING ACTION ON THE ATTACHED MATERIALS
This resolution creates two new classifications. These classifications
have resulted from a reorganization of the Purchasing Division of the
Department of Finance and Management Services. The Business Assistance
Program that was designed to ensure that small business, handicapped,
female, and minority owned businesses participate in City-County
purchasing awards, has been made a part of the Purchasing Division. The
Business Assistance Program Supervisor classification is a single
incumbent classification which replaces a Community Development Grant
Assistant I position. The Business Assistance Specialist classification
replaces the Vendor Assistance Analyst classification.
COST/BENEFIT, BUDGETARY AND PERSONNEL IMPACTS ANTICIPATED
Two positions are effected by this action.
Community Development Grant Assistant I is in Professional Grade 5. The
incumbent is being paid at $1156.70 bi-weekly. The new Business
Assistance Program Supervisor class would be in Professional Supervisory
Grade 13 and the incumbent would be paid $1237.34 bi-weekly. The
additional cost for the remainder of the year would be $725.76. The
total yearly cost would be $32,170.84, resulting in a 77 salary
increase.
Vendor Assistance Analyst is also in Professional Grade 5. The
incumbent is being paid at $888.89 bi-weekly. The new Business
Assistance Specialist classification would be in Professional Grade 8
and the incumbent would be paid $970.97 bi-weekly. The additional cost
for the remainder of the year would be $738.77. The total yearly cost
would be $25,245.22, resulting in a 9 salary increase.
