An ordinance regarding vacant buildings
amending Chapter 43 of the Saint Paul
Legislative Code
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That Section 43.01 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is amended to read as
follows:
Unoccupied. A building which is not being used for }�s-}�c�ea�e�-eee�t�e�e�
a legal occupancy or a building which has been ordered vacated
by the city.
Section 2.
That Section 43.03 Subd. 4 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is amended to read
as follows:
Subd. 4. Vacant building fees. The building official may waive the vacant
building fee if the owner has e��e�ne�-�t�#��#�g-�e�#�s-er��-�es-�e�e---
et��s�e���e�-��eg�ess-�e�ts�a�r�g-��e-�c����#�g-�e-egg�ep��e�e-eeec�per�e�
e�-nse: complied with the following conditions:
1. paid all past due registration fees in full; and
2. has submitted a plan and timetable for the rehabilitation of
the building which has been approved by the building official;
and
3. has obtained any building permits necessary to complete the
rehabilitation; and

Section 3.
That Section 43.03 Subd. 5 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is amended to read as
follows:
Subd. 5. Vacant building fees. No vacant building fee shall be imposed or
collected for a vacant building owned by ea�-ge*ae�n�nea�e�-tt���.- the
City of St. Paul, its departments or any public agency, authority or
commission of the City of St. Paul.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its passage, approval,
and publication.
