On 9/16/86 I paid $335 .54 for Assessment ��2169 , Hazel-Maryland/
Hawthorne/Ruth Storm Sewer Project . Since I live on Maryland
I €elt this was an assessment I was otiligated to pay. No where
on the assessment of 8/1/86 did it state that there would be
an additional assessment for any other portion of my lot, and
since my back of the lot would touch Hawthorne if the street came
thru, I assumed this took care of my obligation. The enclosed
assessment and paid assessment receipt are enclosed.
Now on 7/31/87 I received Assessment �2175 , Maryland/Flandrau-
Furness/Ivy Area Storm Sewer Project in the amount .of $366 .08 .
My back portion of the lot does not touch any of the above-
mentioned streets , as there are homes on all three of the sides .
The property that is being assessed, as I can most clearly define,
is not accessible from Flandrau, all of the surrounding lots
drain down into this portion of my lot, and I have the lowest
spot of all the adjoining properties .
When I called to request information on this assessment, the
gentleman I spoke to told me that now I was being assessed for
the north half of lot 22; I do not own the north half of lot 22,
I only own the south half. He also mentioned that I have a double
lot ; I don't feel this is a double lot , The lot is larger than
some of the others precisely my neighbor' s on the east , but
is the same on the west side as that neighbor' s and the two on
the west side of him. I told him that I had already paid for an
assessment last year and he again said it was for the north half
of lot 22, (as he said he was looking at a plat map) . �
I respectfully ask that the City Council look again at what they
are proposing to assess and rescind this assessment in the �amount
of $366 .08 . Thank you for your time and consideration.
