WHEREAS, marriage was instituted for people to share their lives
in sickness and health, in campaigning and night meetings, in
controversies and speeches; and
WHEREAS, Councilmembers are striving to be close to the City's
educational institutions; and
WHEREAS, behind every successful politician is a smart and
cheerful spouse; and
WHEREAS, one our colleagues has found a new distraction as is
evident by his council votes this week; and
WHEREAS, a public life means sharing joyful events with the
entire community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council and the
City of St. Paul officially congratulates Jim Scheibel and
Mary Pat Lee on their wedding day; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Friday July 10, 1987 be officially
proclaimed
"Jim and Mary Pat Day"
in the City of St. Paul.
