WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has need to conduct
repair work on piers 2 and 5 of the Wabasha Street Bridge and
it would be advantageous to do the tuckpointing repairs to
the masonry piers while the river is currently at a low level ;
and
WHEREAS , the City of Saint Paul does not own a work boat
that would facilitate the repair work; and
WHEREAS , the Saint Paul Yacht Club has graciously offered
to let the City use its work boat for the purpose of making
the repairs ; and
WHEREAS , the estimated repair work will take approximately
five working days ; now, therefore , be it
RESOLVED , that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby
pledges to the Saint Paul Yacht Club the City' s indemnification
of said Club from any and all claims that might arise out of
the City' s use of the Yacht Club ' s work boat and extends to
the Club its thanks for the use of the work boat in accomplishing
a needed public work; and, be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the Club after passage of this
resolution.

The City Bridge Crew will be allowed to use the Yacht Club work boat to tuckpoint
piers 2 and 5 of the Wabasha Street Bridge No. 6524 over the Mississippi River while
the water level is low and the masonry joints are exposed.
COST/BENEFIT, BUDGETARY AND PERSONNEL IMPACTS ANTICIPATED:
The Yacht Club has offered the City free use of their boat, but wants to be held
harmless while the Bridge Crew performs the work.
