An Ordinance amending Section 157 of the
Saint Paul Legislative Code pertaining to
General Parking Restrictions.
THE COUIVCIL OF THE CITY OF SRINT PAUL DOES ORDAII�3:
Section l .
That section 157. 04(12) of the Saint Paul Legislative Co�e
pertaining to miscellaneous parking restrictions be and is hereby
amended to read as follows :
(12) Pdo vehicle designed, used or maintained for ihe
transportation of garbage or rubbish, whether
licensed or unlicensed, shall be parked or left
standing on any private property, street or alley
in any Class R-1 , 2 , 3 or 4, RT-1 , 2 , or RM-1 , 2 ,
or 3 District for more than 30 minutes unless such
vehicle shall be enclosed in a garage or other
suitable enclosure which will prevent its 'peing
viewed by the public.

Section 2.
That section 157 .04 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code
pertaining to miscellaneous parking restrictions be and the
same is hereby amended so as to add the following provision
thereto:
(13) Commercial vehicles; parking restrictions.
a) Definitions. The following words when used in
this section shall have the following meanings
ascribed to them:
Commercial vehicle shall include any bus or
commercial truck as herein defined, any vehicle
designed or modified to serve purposes other

such business or service. Notwithstanding the
above , a commercial vehicle shall not include
municipal or other governmental vehicles , public
utility vehicles or authorized emergency vehicles
as defined in this section, nor shall political
stickers , signs or advertisements constitute a
business , service or product for the purposes of
this section.
Bus means every motor vehicle designed for carrying
more than ten passengers and used for the trans-
portation of persons , and every motor vehicle other
than a taxicab designed and used for the transpor-
tation of persons for compensation. The term bus
does not include a vehicle designed for carrying
more than ten passengers but not more than 14
passengers and operated for the personal or family
use of the owner or operator.
Commercial truck shall include a motor vehicle
designed and registered as a truck and licensed
under the motor carrier laws of the State of
Minnesota for the transportation of property but
not persons , or a motor vehicle designed

and registered as a truck and used exclusively
in the transportation of property in commerce
but not for the transportation of persons at
any time. A commercial truck shall not include
station wagon type vehicles , utility class
vehicles , pickup trucks , any vehicle in which
the cargo space is enlarged by the removal or
folding down of seats , vans with more seats
than for a driver and helper or any vehicle
originally designed as a passenger type vehicle.
(b) Overweight vehicle and commercial vehicle
parking. No vehicle , with or without load, which
weighs more than six thousand (6 , 000) pounds or
is registered for a gross weight of more than
nine thousand (9, 000) pounds, nor any commercial
vehicle which is within or abutting, including
across a street or alley, from an R-1 through
R-4, RT-1 , RT-2, or RM-1 through RM-3 Zoning
District, shall be permitted to stop, stand or
park on any street unless such vehicle is
actually engaged in the loading or unloading
of passengers or materials from the vehicle or
is actually engaged in the providing of services
at that location, or in compliance with �- official tr�ffic
