1 WHEREAS, flights over Saint Paul residences to and from Minneapolis-Saint Paul Intemafional Airport
2(MSP) between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. create serious disruption to peace and rest; and
3 WHEREAS, the City does not want its citizens' taY dollars to be spent on flights that seriously disrupt
4 residents' lives and wants to discourage such flights; now therefore be it
5 RESOLVED, that City officiais and employees are encouraged to schedule all work-related travel on flights
6 to and from MSP International Airport that arrive or depart between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.; and be
7 it further
RESOLVED, that this policy be communicated to all city officials and employees, to a11 approved travel
vendors, ail airlines, and the Metropolitan Airports Commission; and be it fitrther
10 RESOLVED, that the City's independent boards, the business community and the traveling public be
11 encouraged to adopt similar policies, and be it finally
12 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul urges the Saint Paul legislative delegation to work with the
13 Metropolitan Airports Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration to reduce the number of night time
14 flights using MSP International Airport.
