RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby concur in and ratify the appointment by the Mayor of
Christine Park to the position of Assistant to the Mayor
effective May 16, 1987 , a copy of said resolution to be kept

human services projects at the neighborhood level including
child care and health care initiatives, represented the
City on committees, task forces and organizations
1984 - present St. Paul Riverfront Commissioner- mayoral appointee, Task
Force Chairperson, member of Executive Committee
1987 - 88 President Elect, Junior League of St. Paul (JLSP)- member
of Executive Committee of this womens organization with
over 500 members, President 1988-89
1986 - 87 Community Vice President, JLSP- responsible for oversight
of five community projects, member of Executive Committee
1985 - 86 Ways and Means Chairperson, JLSP- responsibility for
coordination of fundraising efforts including manage-
ment and evaluation of current fundraisers and long term
fiscal planning
1984 - 86 Riverview Neighborhood Crime Watch Coordinator- organized
� this grass roots community •improvement organization with
over 100 volunteers in five neighborhood crime watch groups,
organized meetings, planned special events, staffed the
volunteer Board of Directors, raised funds, recruited
volunteers, managed an exterior home rehab grant program
1984 - 85 Project Chairperson, Program for Active Retirement�JLSP-
coordinated this project to encourage people of retirement
age to volunteer in the community, created a 10 minute
slide-tape show and presentation to accompany it
1983 - 84 Manager, West Premium Company- Managed a company that dis-
tributes "premium" gifts for banks, coordinated the
ordering, delivery, billing and some sales
1983 - 84 Chairman, Public Issues Committee, JLSP- Directed the
public affairs activities of the League, published a
monthly newsheet, coordinated member training and legis-
lative monitoring

1982 - 83 President, District 3 Planning Council- Served as President
of the West Side Citizens Organization, responsible for staff
of two, orqanized monthly meetinqs, recruited members, wrote
by laws, managed special projects, planned educational pro-
grams, planned Board. Orientation, represented the organiza-
tion to the City
1982 - 83 Chairperson, Too Early Pregnancy Project, JLSP- chaired
this project that trained S0+ volunteers to lead discussions
in Junior and Senior High Schools about teen sexuality, teen
pregnancy, parenting options, peer pressure, etc.
1980 - 1983 Identified Treatment Area (ITA) Coordinator- coordinated
this neighborhood improvement project that included a housing
rehab program, two large and successful house tours, neigh-
borhood clean up efforts, street paving and park improve-
ments, neighborhood picnics, etc. the West Side ITA was
the most successful ITA in the City
1972 - 75 Began raising two children
1972 - 75 Elementary Teacher, Duluth Public Schools
Taught third grade in an inner city neighborhood school
