City of St.Paul Plaintiff David Cole's parked automobile was struck by an unmarked police car on February 22 ,1986 at Rice and Como. The police officers, Randall Schwartz and Joe Strong were followirig a car suspected to be stolen and w�iting for marked squad cars to apprehend the suspects. 5uspects vehicle cut the police vehicle off, forcing the police vehicle to swerve on slushy streets and hit Coles parked car. The plaintiff claims that his car was properly parked. A police report states that it in fact was legally parked. The rear bumper , trailer hitch and panels of the plaintiffs car were damaged. The plaintiff claims property damage in excess of $�i� .�� . Our office has agreed to settle the plaintiff's claim in the sum of $5501 .4Jg . We recommend approval of the settlement. cc.
