RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO HOUSE FILE 1342/SENATE FILE 1302
WINE IN GROCERY STORE LEGISLATION
WHEREAS, House File 1342/Senate File 1302 would open
up an additional 3 , 500 outlets to sell wine in the metropolitan
area, where there is no need for additianal stores; and
WHEREAS, House File 1342/Senate File 1302 takes away
all restrictions regarding distance between stores that sell
wine and the distance requirements for stores that sell wine
between schools and churches; and
WHEREAS, House File 1342/Senate File 1302 takes away
the right of municipalities to refuse a license to sell wine
to such convenience stores; and
THEREFORE THE SAINT PAUL CITY COUNCIL resolves to
be in opposition to House File 1342/Senate File 1302 win�
and grocery store legislation.
