WHEREAS, Saint Paul is richly endowed with a great diversity of people, cultures, lifestyles and
languages; and
ly
3 WHEREAS, the strength of democratic society must be based upon equal participafion without prejudice of
4 all people in the social, economic and political activities of the community; and
WHEREAS, members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender comxnunity have made significant
contributions toward the enhaucement of our quality of life through active involvement in the economic,
culturaland civic progress of Saint Paul; and
8 WHEREAS, members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender coxnxnunity have joined with many
9 others in actively working and planning to meet the challenges facing us all in making Saint Paul a better
10 place to live and work;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council on this, the Twenty-Seventh
12 anniversazy of Stonewall and the Twin Cities Pride Celebration, and the third anniversary of Capital City
13 Pride Day, does hereby declare
