THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section l . ThatSection 78 .01 be added to the Saint Paul Administrative Code and that it read as follows: 78.01. Compensation of election judges. ��ia� The compensation of judges of election serving at elections in the City of Saint Paul is hereby fixed at Four pollars ($4.00) for each hour spent carrying out their duties at the polling places on election day and that additional compensation to judges is hereby fixed at Ten Dollars ($10.00) per day to the judge designated by the City Clerk as Chairman of the Election Board, at Two Dollars ($2.00) per day each to the judge or judges of election designated by the City Clerk to pick-up election supplies before each election, at Two Dollars ($2. 00) per day each to the judge or judges of election designated by the City Clerk to return election supplies , at Four pollars ($4.00) for each hour while attending instruction meetings , plus bus fare, at One Dollar and Twenty-five Cents ($1 . 25) mileage for the return of election supplies , and at One Dollar and Twenty-five Cents ($1 .25) for the pick-up of election supplies if the pick-up of election supplies is not at the same time as the aforesaid instruction meeting. As state law mandates the retaining of election judqes , they are hereby declared to be independent con- tractors and not employees of the City. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days from and after its passage , approval and publication. 2.
