WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul wishes to support and recognize individuals'
efforts to improve our society and to alleviate the pain of others; and
WHEREAS, Gary Fitch, through his unselfish fundraising efforts, has demon-
strated his enduring concern for children afflicted with serious illnesses; and
WHEREAS, Gary Fitch has bicycled hundreds of miles to raise thousands of
dollars for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Saint Jude Children's
Research Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Gary Fitch is preparing to bicycle from Saint Paul to Washington,
D.C. to increase the awareness of children's diseases and to raise money for
children's cancer research; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council offers its support and recog-
nition to Gary Fitch on his fundraising endeavor and wishes him the best of luck.
