WHEREAS , The City Council is concerned that the present
zoning classifications of properties located within the area
described as bounded by White Bear Avenue , Third Street , Ruth
Street and I-94, rezoned as multiple family as part of the
1975 comprehensive rezoning of the city, may not be appropriate
or consistent with the adjacent developments that have occurred,
and therefore may not be consistent with the existing Compre-
hensive Plan for the city or the Plan may require amendments
so as to protect adjacent properties ; and
WHEREAS , The City Council is empowered pursuant to Minnesota
Statutes , section 462. 355 - 462. 357 , to conduct studies for
the purpose of considering the amendment to the city' s Comprehen-
sive Plan and/or zoning regulations ; and
WHEREAS , Before adopting amendments to the Comprehensive
Plan or zoning ordinance amendments the Council is required
to submit the study to the Planning Commission for its recommen-
dations ; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Planning Commission is hereby requested
to conduct its study and submit its recommendations to the
City Council as to whether the Comprehensive Plan and/or zoning
regulations should be amended as they may relate to the area
of the city described above ; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Planning Commission advise
the City Council as soon as possible when it expects to have
its study and recommendations completed and forward to the
Council .
