RESOLUTION
OF THE
CHARTER COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL
W HEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council by its Resolution of
April 12 , 1988 (C.F. No. 88=505) requested Charter Commission
review and consideration of amendments to Saint Paul City Charter
Section 3.01.8 pertaining to mayoral appointments, with council
approval, to City boards, commissions and other advisory bodies;
and
WHEREAS, at its regularly scheduled meetings on June 23,
1988 and July 28, 1988 the Charter Commission received testimony,
revie wed and considered the aforesaid Charter am endm ent; no w,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section
410.12, Subd. 7, the Sa int Paul Charter Comm i ss ion hereby
recommends for unanimous Council adoption the proposed amendments
attached hereto.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1 .
Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 410.12, Subd. 7, and
upon recomm endation of the Charter Com mission of the City of
Saint Paul, Section 3.01.8 of the Charter of the City of Saint
Paul be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows :
"Section 3.�11.8. �e The mayor shall , with the advice
and consent of the council , appoint members of boards
and commissions and such advisory committees as are
established by 1��� the ma or or by the council, except
that the council may, � resolution, establish and
appoint members to legislative advisory committees.
The term of appointment to legislative advi—' sory
committees shall not exceed one year from the first
meetin of the committee to which a member has been
appointed. Such commiTttees may be established for one
year only and � not be reestablished, � ordinance or
resolution , for an� additional �eriod of time.
Appointees to legislative advisory comm_ittees shall
serve w�iout receiving a per diem allowance. w�e
Appointees to a� city board, commission or committee
shall, be removable as provided in the instrument
establishing st�e�i �ea��T e���+�es�e�a e� �e��t���ee the
same. "
Section 2.
