An ordinance amending Section 33.06 of the Saint Paui
�.,^gislative Code pertaining to certificate of compliance
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That Section 33.06 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is hereby amended
to read as foliows:
Section 33.06. Certificate of Compliance
ThP building official may issue a certificate of compliance for any bui�ding
or structure in Group R-3 or M occupancies when it is determined that such
buil�ing or structure complies with the provisions of Chapter 34 of the Saint Paul
Legis�ative Code. The fee required for issuance of a certificate of compliance
�hall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) for a single-family dwelling and one hundred
twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for a two--family dwelling.
The building official may issue a certificate of compliance for any building
or structure in Group R-1 occupancy, as defined in the Minnesota State Building
Code, when it is found that such building or structure complies with the
provisions of Chapter 34 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code. This fee, in
addition to the certi=icate of occupancy fee, shall be one hundred fifty dollars
($150.00) for a three-family dwelling, one hundred seventy-five dollars
($Z75.00) for a four-family dwelling, and ten dollars ($10.00) per unit for a
five or more family dwelling with a minimum of two hundred dollars ($200.00)
and a maximum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) .
There shall be no fee charged for the issuance of a certificate of compliance
for r.ew buildings at the co�pletior. of their construction cavered by a building
permit.

This ordinance wil� amend Section �.05 of the Legislative Code and states that a c�rtificate
of compliance may be issued to any building in Group• R-I of the Uniform Buildir�g Code. A
Group R-1 huilding is a dwelling of three or less units. This is in compliance with the
ordinance amending Section 33.03. This amendment requires that a certificate of compliance
be applied for by an owner before a permit can be issued. With this amendment, dwellings
with three or less units will be included. This ordinance was before the Community and
Human Services Commfttee July 20, 1988. Expeditious h�ndling of this ordinance is needed.

1. City Council Agenda S/3/88, Item No. 16: Third Reading - 88-500 - An ordinance
amending Chapter 409.21(b) of the Legislative Code pertaining to pulZtabs and
tipboards in bars by deleting the reference to charitable organizations that
support youth athletic activities. (Community and Human Services Committee
recommends approval. (Sent back per request by Ms. Sonnen in regard to
national associations having pulltabs.) Phil Byrne's combination of two
