WHEREAS, the city has mandated Affirmative Action in employment by all
vendors (bidders) of goods and/or services that it contracts with; and
WHEREAS, the city has charged the Director of Human Rights with monitoring
and enforcement of the city's mandate of Affirmative Action in employment by
all vendors (bidders) of goods and/or services that contract with it; and
WHEREAS, the city's mandate of Affirmative Action in employment must be
effectively communicated and made part of all contracts with vendors (bidders)
of goods and/or services contracting with the city; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that any city staff person initiating in any way the formation
of a contract of $50,000 or more for goods and/or services of any kind or
nature shail be a� �He ad�se� af �he p�°eeess before a bid is awarded or
an a9reement is si9ned, refer vende�°s the apparent successfui bidder to the
Director of Human Rights for an Affirmative Action in empioyrnent compiiance
review; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that no such contract shall be processed or awarded
without the Director of Human Rights being signatory to it, verifying that
said vendor is in compliance with the city's mandate of Affirmative Action
in empioyment; and, be it
F�NA���F FURTHER RESOLVED, that no such contract shall be binding on the
city or vendor (bidder) absent the signature of the Director of Human Rights;
and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Attornev shall recommend required changes
to the Administrative Code and other requlations for the effective and timely
implementation of this resolution.
