The 'listing below gives each initial location, the reason f r the change, and the new polling location. Once these changes have been appoved and are made, the City of Saint Paul will decrease non-accessible polling locations for the handicapped and elderly from 13 down to 11 out of the 139 total citywide polling :ocations. 1 - 6 Valley Hi-Rise(261 E,. University Avenue) to Mount Airy Homes(200 E.Arch) There have been numerous complaints about Valley Hi-Rise as a polling 'place. The building has been used for the past couple of years as an interim polling place while the Mount Airy Hi-Rise was being remodeled We were informed renbvation is complete so we will now relocate to the ,Mount Airy Hi-Rise. i 1 - 15 Mt. Olivet Church(45 W. Central) to Central Park Apts. (554 W. Central) We have had requests to move this polling place back to the Central Park 'Apartments. The building was being remodeled the last few years and therefore unavailabl. Now renovation has been completed so we will re- turn to that buildin for our polling place in that precinct. 1 - 23 IHouse of Hope Church(797 Summit) to Webster School/East Gym(707 Holly) The House of Hope Chrch would no longer allow us to use their facility as a polling place because it was too disruptive to their schedule. !The Webster School administration has granted permission to utilize their East Gym as a polling place for this precinct. 2 - 4 Minnesota Lung Association(614 Portland) to St. John's Church(60 Kent) We have been notified that we will not be able to use the Minnesota Lung Association as . polling place due to the sale of the building. A number of voters complainedjthat the location was inconvenient for them. The school administration staff now has agreed to make changes to Monroe School so it will meet State and Federal requirements for accessibility. We can therefore relocate back to Monroe School and the improvements will be completed prior to the Primary Election in September. 3 - 6 Temple of Aaron(616 S. Miss.River Blvd.) to Ford Union Hall(2191 Ford Pkwy.) We will not be able z,o use the Temple of Aaron as a polling place in September because the Primary Election day falls on one of their major oly days. The Ford Union Hall will be used for the Primary Election and e will move back to the Temple of Aaron in November for the General Election. I i . •' ' • ,' • , ., /I./f `{//✓J . . , . {/ Polling $lace Changes Continued. . . 3 - 15 Cretin Auditorium(495 Hamline Ave. So.) to Cretin Gym Lobby(550 S.
