WHEREAS, General Drivers Local Union No. 120 has requested funding for a
"202" housing project for the handicappe in the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The title of the project is Teamsters Re iree Housing of St. Paul, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the proposal comprises 30 nits of handicapped-style living
including one, two, and three-bedroom un ts. The International Brotherhood of
Teamsters has a strong track record of p oviding affordable housing for low
and moderate incor.ie people around the co ntry. Further, this housing would be
located in Saint Paul, Minnesota at a si e to be determined later upon HUD
approval; and
WHEREAS, the General Drivers Local Union No. 120 has long been supportive
of high quality living standards for Sa nt Paul residents and Saint Paul
employees; and
WHEREAS, the General Drivers Local Union No. 120 supports accessible housing
alternatives for its members; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that t Council of the City of Saint Paul .
enthusiastically supports this applica ion and instructs the Mayor's Administration
and appropriate City staff to work wit General Drivers Local Union No. 120 �b �
secure this housing funding. �
