WHEREAS There is an opportunity to save val able boulevard trees while constructing separated
sewers �iy providing a metal box structure to protect workers using narrower trenches to lay
pipe, and
WHEREAS, the protective metal structure is e timated to cost $25,000 and mature trees that
could be saved on one block would cost $40,0 0 to replace, and
WHEREAS= The Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.0 .1 of the City Charter, does certifp that there
are available for appropriation revenues in xcess of those estimated in the 1988 budget, and
WHEREAS, The Mayor reco�ends the following hanges to the 1988 budget:
