WHEREAS, James Curran DBA Pizza Papa at 1619 University Avenue has applied for
an On-Sale 3.2 Malt Beverage, Restau ant and K-Vehicle License and also a
Modification of Parking Requirements for this license reducing the number of
off-street parking spaces required f om 19 to 10: and
WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing efore the City Council was duly mailed to
each owner of affected property with'n 350 feet of the property for which the
license was sought; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a pub ic hearing on May 17, 1988, pursuant to
said application; and
WHEREAS, the City Council based upon evidence presented at the public hearing,
as substantially reflected in the mi utes made the following findings of fact:
1. James Curran opened the Piz a Papa restaurant at this location in
1987. Pizza Papa was forme ly located one block south on Snelling
Avenue. It was relocated t its present location to make way for
Spruce Tree Center.
The former location had a license to serve 3.2 beer. It had one off-
street parking space.
2. A site plan for the present location showing 10 spaces was reviewed
by Planning staff. They de ermined that there was adequate parking
for a restaurant under the equirements of the Zoning Code. Planning
staff did not review it for liquor license parking requirements.

4. The modification to reduce arking standards from 19 to 10 is
appropriate and can be granted without detrimental impact on the
surrounding neighborhood. he establishment wil} clearly operate
primarily as a pizza restau ant. There will be no bar on the
premises. Granting a license to serve 3.2 beer will not increase its
parking demand.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by t e City Council that Application
(I.D. # 90865) for an On-Sale 3.2 Ma t Beverage, Restaurant and K-Vehicle
License and a Modification of Parkin Requirements from 19 spaces to 10 spaces
by James Curran DBA Pizza Papa at 16 9 University Avenue be and the same is
hereby granted.
