WHEREAS, The City has constructed the following streets using Municipal
State Aid Funds; and
HAMLINE AVENUE - Como Avenue to oyt Avenue;
COMO AVENUE - Capitol Heights to Avon Street;
FORD PARKWAY - Mississippi River Boulevard to Howell Street;
CHESTNUT STREET - West Seventh treet to Smith Avenue;
THOMAS AVENUE - Snelling Avenue to Hamline Avenue;
CRETIN AVENUE - Dayton Avenue t Iglehart Avenue;
EIGHTH-NINTH STREET - St. Peter Street to Wacouta Street.
WHEREAS, The location of various fix d objects in the street right-of-way
do not conform to the current Munici al State Aid standards; now, therefore,
be
RESOLVED, That we do hereby authori e the Director of Public Works to
request a Variance from Municipal S ate Aid standards for these projects.

The Public Works Committee at t eir meeting of May 25, 1988 took the

1. 6/7/88 VACATION: Petitio of Lake Phalen Limited Partnership for
the vacation of n encroachment of a utility and drainage
easement over, u der and across part of Lot 2, Block 1,
Phalen Shores ( ounded by Forest, Ivy and Wheelock
j Parkway) . Purpos is to correct a building encroachment.
Recommended appr val on 2-0 vote, Councilmember Rettman

2. 6/7/88 RATIFICATION OF ASSESSMENTS: For installation of Fire
Protection Syste for COSSETTA'S MARKET AND DELI at 209-
211 W. Seventh S reet.
Recommended app oval on 2-0 vote, Councilmember Rettman
absent.
3. 6/7/88 RATIFICATION OF ASSESSMENTS: For the installation of a
sanitary sewer in FORESTER STREET from Canton Street to
Bay Street.

4. 6/7/88 RATIFICATION OF ASSESSMENTS: For the installation of a
sanitary sewer in vacated GURNEY STREET and in Gurney
Street. Also, construction of sanitary sewer service
connections.

6. 6/14/88 FINAL ORDER: In tallation of the WABASHA STREETSCAPE
IMPROVEMENT PLAN on Wabasha from Kellogg Blvd. to llth
Street and on 5t and 6th Streets from Wabasha to St.
Peter Street. Im rovements to include the following: New
decorative lightin to accommodate banners, flower baskets
and other specia trims; information kiosks containing
lists of stores an events, maps, telephones, news boxes
and trash receptac es.

7. 6/14/88 FINAL ORDER: Th operation of the Above Standard Street
Lighting System or the WABASHA-5TH-6TH AREA for the year
1988 for the fol owing streets: Both sides of Wabasha
Street from Kell gg Blvd. to llth Street; Both sides of
5th Street and 6t Street from St. Peter Street to Wabasha
Street.

8. 5/31/88 RATIFICATION OF A SESSMENTS: For construction of curb and
gutter on the outh side of IDAHO AVENUE from Duluth
Avenue to Atlant c Street and the west side of ATLANTIC
STREET to approx ately 135 feet south of Idaho Avenue.
Recommended app oval on 2-0 vote, Councilmember Rettman
absent.
9. 5/31/88 FINAL ORDER: onstructing a sanitary sewer in WHEELOCK
PARKWAY from 10 feet west of Edgemont Street to 170 feet
east of Edgemont Street. Also, construct sanitary sewer
service connecti ns. Also, constructing a water main in
Wheelock Parkway from Edgemont Street to 170 feet east of
Edgemont St. a d construct water service connections.
Also condemning and taking a 20-foot easement for sewer
purposes in pa t of Lot 13, Block 1, Dawson's 5th
Addition. (Publi Works requests this item to be Laid Over
Indefinitely) .
