ORiGiNAL Presented By Referred To Committee: Date 1 WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Human Rights has determined there are 2 reasonable grounds to believe that Respondent Verification Center, Inc. is in violation of the 3 Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.03 and 18310; and 4 5 6 7 � 1 11 WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Human Rights has conducted such investigation and found probable cause e�sts to support such allegations; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Human Rights has unsuccessfully attempted to resolve, conciliate and compromise the conflict between the parties; and WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.24 provide that civil enforcement proceedings be instigated by the Director of the Deparhnent of Human Rights and such hearings are to be presided over by a chairperson and law officer; and WHEREAS, a hearing has been scheduled for March 10, 1999; now therefore, be it 12 RESOLVED, by the Saint Paul City Council, that the City of Saint Paul, by its Human 13 Rights Department, is authorized to retain the services of Judge Jon L. Lunde at the rate of 14 $93.00 per hour for services as a law officer relative to the disciplinary hearing of Verification 15 Center, Inc. and be it 16 17 FURTHER RESOLVED, that the compensation to be paid to 7on L.
