RESOLVED, that, upon execution and delivery of a release in full to the City of Saint Paul,
the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to pay from the Tort Liability
Fund, 09081-0511, to Debra Smith, Gordon Smith, and their attomey of record, Martha
Neese, the sum of $23,441.19 in full settlement of their bodily injury claim sustained on July
14, 1997 during transportation by Medic Company 24A of the Saint Paul Fire and Safety
Services Department.

On July 14, 1997 a City of Saint Paul Fire and Safety Services Department ambulance, driven by
AI John, was transporting Debra Smith to United Hospital. On the way to the hospital, the
stretcher back fell, causing injury to Ms. Smith's neck and back. As a result of her injuries, Ms.
Smith incurred in eiccess of $11,000 in medical bills. I have reached a settlement with Ms. Smith
and her attorney in the amount of $23,441.19. This settlement includes any past, present, and
