HHEREAS, quality child care i an important issue to the City of
Saint Paul and its emplo ees; and
WHEREAS, providing a variety f child care options to City
employees will be of ben fit to ea�ployees� their children
and the future of the Ci y of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Child Care Taek Force hae made nwnerous
recomendations for meeti g the child care needs of City em—
ployees as part of the C ty's attempts to be a progressive
leader in the area of ch ld care; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Counc 1 hereby supports the efforts of the
Personnel Department to eview the City's existing policies
on flextime, 3ob sharing and leaves of absence for parental
education; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ci y Council hereby requests the Personnel
Department to undertake dditional study of City polfcy on:
A) the uee of chil care vouchers for City employees;
B) the use of a ch ld—care resource referral organization
for Cfty employ es;
C) the unrestricte use of accumulated employee sick leave
in the case of ickness or disability of a household
member;
