Gerry Strathman called the meeting to order at 3:06 p.m.
Hing C. Wong, owner, appeared.
No one appeazed in opposition to ttae license.
Christine Rozek reported this is a license application for North China Restaurant, 1753 Old
Hudson Road. The applicant is asking for Wine On Sale, Malt On Sale (Strong), and Restaurant
(B) Licenses. All requirements have been met. There aze no pending adverse actions against this
license. LIEP's recommendation is approval of the license with no conditions.
Gerry Strathman stated he received one written objection dated 3anuary 25, 1999, from Mr. and
Mrs. J. Doren, 1705 Old Hudson Road. (Mr. Strathman read this letter into the record.) The
writers object to any liquor in the azea because of concerns about the type of clientele that will be
brought into the neighborhood They are also concerned about drunk drivers.
Gerry Strathman asked is this a commercial azea. Christine Rozek responded L3EP's zoning
office has approved this application; therefore, it must be zoned properiy.
Gerry Strathman asked what kind of businesses are near North China Restaurant. Hing Wong
responded Embers Restaurant has a license for beer and wine, and it is nearby. SuperAmerica is
in front of North China Restaurant. The hotel is nearby, too.
Gerry Strathman recommended approval of thls license citing he cannot see any basis for denying
it. This business is in a commercial area. There is another restaurant, hotel, and setvice station
in the immediate vicinity.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
