SUBJECT: Fund Transfer
The Perso nel Office is currently in the �rocess of selecting an Executive
Director or Council Research. As you ar aware, the position has been
establish d and it provides for a five ye r term for a director.
It was th Council's wish that the search process be nationwide. We have,
therefore conducted a nationwide adverti ing campaign and have selected
a consult'ng firm to assist in evaluating the responses and help make the
best sele tion possible. We anticipated t$he cost to be no more than $30,000.
Would you please prepare a resolution whic�h would transfer that sum of money
from wher ver you deem appropriate to the personnel office. The funds for
this proj ct were not provided for in the 1987 or 1988 City Council budget.
