1 WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Department of Natural
2 Resource5 (DNR), Recreation Services Section, Trails and
3 Waterways Unit made matching funds available through the National
4 Recreation Trails Fund, and
5 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul applied for and was awarded
6 funding by the DNR to assist in the purchase of new trail
7 grooming equipment to better maintain more than 23 miles of cross
8 country ski trails, and
9 WHEREAS, as a result of this grant award the City of Saint
10 Paul is eligible to receive $6,700 in DNR funding to assist in
11 the purchase of new trail groominq equipment, and
12 WAEREAS, City Council Resolution 99-838 approved on
13 September 1, 1999 authorized the City of Saint Paul to accept the
14 DNR grant award of $6,700 and the Mayor and proper City officials
15 to execute such agreements as are necessary to implement the
16 project on behalf of the City, and

revenues in excess of those estimated in the 1999 budget, and

budget:
