WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council amended Section 91 . 14 of the
Saint Paul Cit Charter and e islative Code to provide that the
Water Utility may certify up id water and sewer service charges
to the County Auditor to be ollected with the property's taxes;
and
WHEREAS, this authorization ay be inconsistent with state law;
and
WHEREAS, only Duluth and Sai t Paul are currently excluded from
this authority;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, t e City of Saint Paul directs City
staff to pursue an amendment to statute that would enable the
City to levy an assessment a ainst a property tax owner for
unpaid water and sewage char es.
