Standard Ranges an establishing the rate of

RESOLVED, that the Salary P1 n and Rates of Compensation Resolution
be amended in Section ID6, Fire S pervisory Standard Ranges, thereof, by
inserting in proper numerical ord r, the salary range for Grades 41 and
42 as follows:

FURTHER RESOLVED, be it that the rate of pay for the title of Fire
Dispatch Supervisor be set at the rate set forth in Grade 41, Section ID6,
of the Fire Supervisory Standard nges in the Salary Plan and Rates of
Compensation; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that this solution shall take effect and be in
force on the first pay period aft the passage, approval, and publication
of this resolution.

I will also be processing a res lution to establish the rate of pay

The Fire and Safety Services Department ide tified the need to add an additional supervisory
position in their communications center dis atching section. The Classification and
Compensation Division of the Office of Pers nnel and Labor Relations studied the dispatch
operations and confirmed the need for the n w position. /�

There will be increased salary cost equal to the pay for the Fire Dispatch Supervisor
position ($1,317.75 biweekly x 26 = $34,261. 0 annua7ly) .
The cost in 1989 should be $3,953.25 based o a November 20th implementation.
DISADVANTAOEH IF NOT APPROVED:
The Fire Department will have to continue to assign out-of�title pay to an individual to
provide this level of coverage. This out-of title position will not have been tested and
filled from the top candidates.
