WHEREAS, Congress has recentl passed a new employment program called
Job Training Partnership Act Title II, Economic Dislocation and Worker
Adjustment Assistance (EDWAA) Act, nd
WHEREAS, the State of Minneso a has designated the City of Saint Paul
grant recipient for EDWAA in the Sa nt Paul area, and
WHEREAS, the EDWAA program wi 1 provide employment and training services
to Saint Paul's dislocated workers; and
� WHEREAS, the State of Minneso a has recently allocated additional
resources in supplemental EDWAA fun s, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that upon recommend tion of the Mayor, the Council of the City
of Saint Paul does hereby approve t e City's participation in the EDWAA
program for Saint Paul, and be it
RESOLVED, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 1007.01 of the City Charter,
does certify that there are availab e for appropiration revenues in excess of
those estimated in the 1989 budget, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the pr per City of Saint Paul officials are
hereby authorized and directed to e ecute appropriate contracts for delivery
of employment related services;
FINALLY RESOLVED, the Mayor r commends that the 1989 Special Funds
budget be amended as identified bel .
