WHEREAS , the Council of he City of Saint Paul by Resolution
C .F. 88-1704 adopted Octob r 25, 1988, granted the petition
of the St. Paul Fire & Marin Insurance Company to vacate certain
streets , alley and air rig ts over public street subject to
certain terms and conditions ; and
WHEREAS , one of the co ditions contained in the said reso-
lution provided that the esign final plan for the proposed
skyway structure within th vacated air rights shall be ac-
complished in accordance wi h and subject to the approval of
the Department of Public W rks and the Department of Planning
and Economic Development a d that the final design thereof
shall also be subject to a proval by the Council of the City
of Saint Paul ; and
WHEREAS , the St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company
has prepared final plans f r the const�ruction of the proposed
skyway structure , which plans have been a�proved by the Department
of Public Works and Departme t of Plann�.ng and Economic Develop-
ment ; and
WHEREAS , the final desi n plans as approved by the aforesaid
City departments have been eviewed by the Council ' s Committee
on Public Works , Utilities and Transportation, which Comrnittee
has recommended approval of the final design as set forth in �
the attached Exhibit No. l ; n w, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Cou cil of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby indicate its approva of the final design plan for the
proposed skyway structure as ubmitted to the City and as approved
by the Departments of Publ c Works and Planning and Economic
Development.

The recently passed Council Resolution C. . 88-1704 granted certain street, alley and air
rights to the St. Paul Fire & Marine Insu ance Company. As part of the terms and conditions
of that resolution, St. Paul Fire & Marin Insurance Company is required to submit their
design final plan to the Council for appr val.

In accordance with the di ection of the Committee on Public
Works, I have prepared an transmit the proposed resolution
whereby the City Council w uld approve the final design plan
for the proposed skyway b idge to be constructed by the St.
Paul Campanies within the vacated air rights and skyway de-
scription as set forth in ity Council Resolution No. 88-1704.
This resolution has been pproved as to form by myself and
as I understand the intent was of the Committee to have this
submitted to the City Council with a recommendation for approval .
